The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and committed Residential Childcare Worker to join our team. This role is pivotal to the success of our homes and the wellbeing of the children we care for. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will provide day-to-day care, support, and guidance to children living in our residential homes, helping them develop essential life skills and a sense of security.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, child-centred care that meets the individual needs of each child.
• Support children with their emotional, social, and educational development.
• Build trusting and positive relationships with children, promoting their self-esteem and confidence.
• Plan and deliver engaging activities that encourage learning and personal growth.
• Maintain accurate records and reports in line with company policies and safeguarding regulations.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic care.
• Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of children at all times.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and supervision.

Person Specification

• Previous experience working with children in a residential, social care, or health setting is desirable.
• Understanding of safeguarding policies and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills; relevant qualifications in childcare or social care are an advantage.
• Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins as needed.
